Western hognose snake (Heterodon nasicus) Toffeeconda
The Toffeeconda is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Toffeeconda is a combination of the recessive Toffeebelly mutation and the heterozygous incomplete dominant Anaconda mutation. The Toffeebelly mutation produces a light gold-brown to brown colour with variations in shades such as yellow, orange, red or green. The Anaconda mutation reduces the pattern on the back and sides, leaving larger open areas visible. The belly is generally uniform in colour. Combining these mutations results in a snake with reduced patterning and contrasting colour distribution. The amount of pattern reduction and colour intensity can vary between individual animals within the same combination.
