The Thallium is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Thallium is a combination of the recessive axanthic mutation, the recessive toffeebelly mutation and the heterozygous incomplete dominant anaconda mutation. This combination shows a silver-grey to cream-like colour. The axanthic mutation influences the colour toward grey, while the toffeebelly mutation contributes to the lighter, warmer undertone. The anaconda mutation reduces parts of the back pattern, resulting in fewer saddle markings than in a standard pattern. The result is a combination with muted colour tones and a more limited back pattern.
