The Super Daddy is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Super Daddy is a combination of the recessive amelanistic Albino mutation, the homozygous incomplete dominant Superarctic mutation and the homozygous incomplete dominant Superconda mutation. Due to the absence of melanin, this combination develops pink to light purple tones together with red eyes. The Superconda mutation causes the dorsal pattern to become mostly or completely absent. In some specimens, a pink or purple stripe remains visible along the back. The influence of Superarctic often creates strong contrast and noticeable colour changes during growth and shedding. Compared to other Albino combinations, the background colour generally appears lighter and cooler. Colour intensity and remaining pattern may vary between specimens.
