The Grey Fog is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Grey Fog is a combination of the heterozygous incomplete dominant Arctic mutation and the heterozygous incomplete dominant Anaconda mutation. This combination displays a lighter overall colouration compared to a standard Anaconda. The Arctic mutation contributes lighter contrasts and can create white outlining around parts of the pattern. The Anaconda mutation reduces sections of the dorsal pattern, resulting in a more open appearance with reduced side patterning. The belly is typically plain, completely black. Grey Fog is recognised as a combination in which contrast between the background colour and pattern remains visible while the overall appearance is lighter than regular Anaconda combinations.
