The Albino Anaconda is a unique variation of the Western Hognose Snake (Heterodon nasicus). Thanks to its distinctive appearance and active character, this species has remained one of the most popular snakes in the hobby. Description
Albino Anaconda is a combination of the recessive amelanistic Albino mutation and the heterozygous incomplete dominant Anaconda mutation. In this combination, melanin is absent, resulting in red, orange and yellow tones together with red eyes. The Anaconda mutation reduces the amount of dorsal and lateral pattern, allowing larger areas of the background colour to remain visible. This generally creates a more open pattern compared to a regular Albino. The dorsal markings are often connected or partially reduced. The combination retains the characteristic Albino colouration, while the influence of Anaconda is mainly visible in the distribution and amount of pattern.
