Short description
This hognose snake (Heterodon nasicus), known as Super Yeti (Snow Superconda), combines the Albino, Axanthic and Superconda morphs. Albino is an amelanistic morph and results in the absence of melanin and produces yellow to orange tones with red eyes, while Axanthic suppresses red and yellow pigment and enhances grey and black tones. Together, these genes create a very light to nearly white base colour with soft pink or grey undertones. The Superconda morph removes almost all dorsal pattern. The result is a nearly patternless expression within the Albino Axanthic combination.

A good start begins with proper housing. Juvenile western hognose snakes do best in a smaller, well-structured enclosure with a stable temperature of around 25–29 °C. For adult animals, an enclosure with a minimum floor space of 60 × 30 cm or 60 × 50 cm is suitable, with a clear enclosure gradient of approximately 24–31 °C.
Keep the environment mostly dry, with a humidity level of around 30–50%. In addition, provide a localized humid microclimate, for example in the form of a humid hide.
A juvenile western hognose snake is typically fed once every 5-7 days with an appropriately sized frozen-thawed mouse.
For detailed information on housing, temperature, humidity, and feeding, please refer to our care guide on the care page.
